RRD Inflatable SUP Board Construction

RRD Inflatable SUPs are made with a new “Uni Directional Dyneema Sandwich Belt“ that wraps the whole contour of the board on the deck and bottom as a stringer. This makes the SUP about 30% stiffer than any conventional Inflatable board.

RRD Inflatable SUPs are made with Hi Tenacity PVC Dropstitch fabrics. Dropstitch is where the outer layers of material are joined together with thousands of fabric filaments that run between the top and bottom of the inflatable SUP. The fabric filaments between the two layers of PVC are assembled onto the PVC itself by an "Aerosol" technology. This offers the absolute best bond between the fabric filaments and the PVC surface layers and secures a high stress durability over a long time frame… these inflatable SUPs last.

The special Aereosol HTPD® fabrics are the only fabrics to have been tested to withstand 3 bar inflation pressure. They can be used with an average of 1.5 bar pressure at all times. These inflatable SUPs can be pumped up to an incredibly high pressure which means a stiff board that can hold its original shape at all times… these means excellent performance in all conditions.

On top of the dropstitch fabrics the boards are heat laminated with 900 gms/sqmt PVC woven marine grade fabric… this makes the RRD Inflatable SUPs super strong and durable. The rocker line is maintained as it was originally designed.

RRD LIGHTSTRIPE COLLECTION

"Lightweight and durable"

The Lightstripe Collection are the new lightweight versions of RRD's most popular inflatable boards. RRD found that the super-tough inflatable paddleboards that they were making were great, but maybe over-doing it for some users. They looked into developing a lighter-weight line of boards, that are still durable enough for the majority of paddlers. The RRD Lightstripe boards are easier to carry and roll up and pack away.

Where the more heavy duty RRD SUPs are made with a double skin, the Lightstripes are made with one single layer of dropstich fabrics. They also incorporate a 1 x 15 cms wide center stripe to control scooprocker line and 2 x 5 cms side stripe to prevent twist, both made with 900 grms/sqms HD Marine grade PVC fabrics.

This new technology is the perfect balance to keep weight down and get a durable and well built inflatable SUP board.
